1. Who We Are

Spencer The Gathering is an independent game and app studio based in Queensland, Australia. We make Quantum Button (a 1v1 PvP tap-battle game) and Achievo (a social app that helps you take breaks from social apps). "We," "us," and "our" in this policy refers to Spencer The Gathering. 2. What Data We Collect

We collect different things depending on which product you're using. The full breakdown:

This website (spencer-the-gathering.com)

• Basic visitor analytics — page views, country (not city), device type, referrer. Aggregated and anonymous.
• Waitlist signups — your name and email when you submit the waitlist form. Used only to email you when beta access opens.

Quantum Button

• Account info — display name, email or sign-in identifier, your chosen squad-pet avatar.
• Gameplay data — high scores, taps per second, match results, power-item usage, leaderboard position, mode preferences.
• Squad & friends — friend list, invite codes you've shared.
• Device info — model, OS version, language, region (for matchmaking).
• Live video stream — see Section 4 below. We do not store, record or process this.

Achievo

• Account info — display name, email, avatar, optional bio.
• Quest data — which quests you've accepted, your streaks, XP, level, completion history.
• Posts — videos, photos and threaded conversations you create on the platform.
• Social graph — friends, follows, cheers, conversation participants.
• Subscription status — whether you're on Free or Pro (managed via Apple/Google billing — we never see your card details).
• Accessibility preferences — your settings choices, stored locally and on your account so the experience is consistent across devices.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data above for these purposes — and only these purposes:

• Run the apps — show your scores, sync streaks across devices, match you with friends, deliver your daily spin crate.
• Communicate with you — send beta invites, occasional product updates, transactional emails (e.g. password reset). You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Improve the experience — aggregated, anonymised crash reports and performance metrics. We never look at individual usage patterns.
• Keep play fair — detect cheating, bots and abuse on leaderboards or in PvP.
• Comply with the law — respond to lawful requests from courts or regulators where required.

4. Live Video Feed (Quantum Button)

This deserves its own section because it's the most-asked question we get.

The live video feed during a 1v1 match in Quantum Button is 100% peer-to-peer. We use WebRTC, which establishes a direct, encrypted connection between you and your opponent. The video and audio stream goes device-to-device — it does not pass through, get cached by, or get recorded on any Spencer The Gathering server. Ever.

When the match ends, the connection closes and the stream is gone. There is no recording. No replay. No archive. No human at Spencer The Gathering has ever or will ever see your gameplay video.

You can disable the video feed entirely in settings if you'd prefer to play with audio only or completely silent.

5. Camera-Proof Posts (Achievo)

When you take a camera-proof photo or video to verify a quest, the file is uploaded to encrypted storage and linked to your account. You — and only you — control who sees it:

• Private — only you and the friends you tag
• Squad — visible to your friends list
• Public — visible in the global feed

You can delete any post at any time. Deleted posts are removed from our servers within 30 days. You own the content you create — we don't claim ownership or rights to use it outside the app.

6. Third-Party Services We Use

We use a small set of well-vetted services to keep the apps running. Each one is configured to receive the minimum data necessary:

• Firebase (Google) — account auth, leaderboards, real-time matchmaking. Firebase privacy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — distribution, sign-in with Apple/Google, in-app purchases (Pro tier).
• RevenueCat — subscription management for Achievo Pro. They never see your payment card.
• AdMob (Google) — ads in Achievo Free only. Configured to use limited ad tracking.
• Cloudflare — this website's hosting and DDoS protection.

7. Cookies & Analytics

This website uses minimal first-party cookies for visitor analytics (privacy-respecting, anonymised). We don't use third-party advertising cookies on the website. The apps use local storage on your device to remember your preferences and keep you logged in — that's it.

8. Ads (Achievo Free Tier Only)

Achievo Free shows ads between feed posts to support development. The ads are served by Google AdMob with these guardrails:

• We use Apple's App Tracking Transparency / Google's UMP consent flow — you can decline tracking and still see (non-personalised) ads.
• Your personal data, posts, quest history and social graph are never sent to ad networks.
• Want zero ads forever? Achievo Pro removes them entirely.

Quantum Button has no ads.

9. Your Rights

Wherever you live, you have these rights. Where you live (EU/UK/California/Australia) you may have extra rights — they're spelled out by your local law, and we honour all of them.

• Access — request a copy of everything we hold about you.
• Export — download your data in a portable format from app settings.
• Correct — fix anything that's wrong.
• Delete — wipe your account and all associated data. The button is in settings. No "are you sure" loops or dark patterns.
• Opt out — turn off non-essential emails, opt out of analytics, opt out of personalised ads.
• Complain — to us first (we'll fix it), or to your local data protection authority if we don't resolve it to your satisfaction.

10. Children's Privacy

Our apps are intended for users 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you're a parent and believe your child created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Quantum Button has a guardian-supervised mode for younger players in a future release — when it ships it'll have additional, stricter privacy controls.

11. International Users

Spencer The Gathering operates from Australia, but our users are worldwide. By using our apps you consent to your data being processed in Australia and the locations where our service providers operate (typically the US and the EU for Google/Apple/Cloudflare).

Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and the providers' own certifications (e.g. EU-US Data Privacy Framework) to ensure your data remains protected.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy materially, we'll email you (or surface a banner in the apps) at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Minor wording fixes happen quietly and are reflected in the "Effective" date at the top.
